Discover Technical Diving
Discover Tec diving allows divers curious about tec diving to try out a full technical rig in controlled conditions.Because of the emphasis on trying tec diving, the us of a full, standardized technical setup as required for tec 45 and beyond is recommended. Discover tec may be credited toward the tec 40 course if the participant meets all performance requirements for the dive. However, performing the skills is not required for the experience.
Discover Tec Prerequisites
1- Certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification from another training organization.
2- Minimum age: 18 years old.
3- A minimum of 10 logged dives.
Tec 40
The Tec 40 subcourse of the DSAT Tec Diver course is a limited, entry-level technical diving program that bridges the gap between recreational diving and full technical deep decompression diving.
Certified Tec 40 divers are qualified to make limited decompression dives using equipment that is marginally more extensive than that used in mainstream recreational diving. Prerequisites
Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification from another training organization, PADI Enriched Air Diver or a qualifying certification from another training organization, PADI Deep Diver or proof of 10 dives to 30 metres/100 feet, 18 years old, 30 logged dives (10 with EANx, 7 deeper than 30 metres/100 feet).
Tec 45

Certified Tec 45 divers are qualified to make multistop decompression dives that employ EANx and oxygen for accelerated decompression. The expectation is that a Tec 45 diver intends to continue on in technical diving. Accordingly, the course not only develops the knowledge and skills to make open circuit technical dives as deep as 45 metres/145 feet, but also begins developing the knowledge and skills the diver will need at the Tec 50 level and beyond. Certified Tec 45 divers are qualified to make multistop decompression dives that employ EANx and oxygen for accelerated decompression. The expectation is that a Tec 45 diver intends to continue on in technical diving. Accordingly, the course not only develops the knowledge and skills to make open circuit technical dives as deep as 45 metres/145 feet, but also begins developing the knowledge and skills the diver will need at the Tec 50 level and beyond.

For the purposes of this level, a qualifying technical certification is one that qualifies the student to make decompression dives to 40 metres/130 feet using air and EANx using open circuit scuba equipment. 18 years old, 50 logged dives (12 deeper than 18 metres/60 feet using EANx, at least 6 deeper than 30 metres/100 feet (with or without EANx).
