Which suit to bring along ?
The average water temperature in winter is 20 - 22 degree Celsius.
According to your personal sensitivity we recommend a wetsuit or semi-drysuit of 4.5 mm to 7 mm. Some of our clients even use a drysuit. Diving three dives with a 3 or 4.5 mm wetsuit might get chilly. An additional neoprene shirt would help. Due to strong winds we recommend a neoprene headband to prevent ear infections.
During summer, from May to October, a long john, a 3 mm wetsuit or even a shorty are sufficient.
Gloves are not really needed and are forbidden at most dive sites.
Doctors and the Decompression Chamber
In Sharm el Sheikh there are excellent doctors available, two hospitals and a modern decompression chamber with a 24 hour call-out service for diving emergencies.
A second new deco chamber has been opened 2005 in Dahab.
The chamber doctors speak several languages and have special training in hyperbaric medicine to treat decompression accident patients, lung embolisms or any other diving accident related injuries.
In order to guarantee that we maintain the pressure chamber every diving centre in Sharm el Sheikh requests their diving guests to make a small optional contribution known as the "deco dollar".
